I’m finally living out my dream. I’m FINALLY in Asheville, NC with the most handsome man beside me. It was a long journey of surprises, laughs, miles and road trip foods, but we finally made it. We’re in Asheville! MY favorite place in the whole world, my dream town to live in.
Before we arrived, during breakfast Felipe thought it would be a good idea to make a tower out of his breakfast materials. He was quite proud, and it made me giggle.
I’m pretty free and loose when it comes to life, but Felipe does innocent things like this that shows me where I’m lacking when it comes to ‘being in the moment’. I almost blurted out ‘stop playing with your breakfast’, Thankfully I saw his proud look from his work first. Then I pause and join him in the moment. A.K.A. giggling, and pulling out my camera to save that moment.
So the big moment arrives, We arrive at Asheville. It’s glorious, even more beautiful than how I remember. The art is more creative, the people are nicer, the building have more character, the trees are more glorious, the air is more clear, it’s all better than I remembered. I never want to leave. “Good luck getting me to leave this to go back to Tampa” was the second most thought I had;the first was ‘I can’t believe I’m actually in Asheville’.

I feel like I’m in shock, I can’t get my head to wrap around that I’ve finally made my way back here. I never want to leave, I never want to leave. Everything is safe, happy and free here. Why would I want to leave this to go back to Tampa, where the police sirens are the crickets chirping in the night? Where I’m constantly looking looking behind me in fear of someone going to attack me. Where I have to take my taser with me when I walk my dog in my own neighborhood?
Felipe and I park and just start walking the streets of downtown Asheville, looking at everything our eyes can catch, going from store to store, playing around laughing and taking it all in. I hope he likes it as much as I do, because I’m determined to move here.
There’s street art everywhere. All kinds of art on most of the buildings, everywhere. They’re all beautifully expressed and very well done. It’s such the perfect town for me. Have I mentioned yet how I never want to leave??
Someday, I’m determined and convinced that some day I’ll be fortunate enough to move to this amazing place.
Lots of love!
